About

Background

‘Yukiness’ is the label of wig designer. Yukis wigs are beautiful works of art, made from unique materials, they pay homage to history and fantasy alike. Daring and ostentatious they make a real style satement and capture the imagination of all that see them…Yuki came to the UK as an export fashion buyer for her home country. She went on to study Jewellery and Silversmithing at London Metropolitan University. The course gave her freedom to design wearble object in diverse materials, where she developed an interest in wig making. Also inspired by her mother who was a hairdresser.

In 2008, Yuki learned the traditional wig making techniques and keep developing her own wig making. Yuki is passionate about the baroque French period for its drama and theatricality. Her creations use a variety of construction processes such as felt making and jewellery techniques. Her use of materials is innovative, unique to wig making and create an object of dramatic beauty.

The wigs have been used in theatre productions, operas, window displays (including a special Christmas window display for Selfridges London), on the catwalk (at London Fashion Week) and for corporate events (Creative Industries event held at Coutts bank London).
